Our Story
During their original days at the greenhouse, the founders of our garden center were working near the back of the property when they spotted a rabbit and the beautiful shadow he cast against the adjacent alfalfa field.  They promptly named the business Rabbit Shadow Farm and from humble beginnings, the company grew into a well-know greenhouse shipping herbs and topiary across the country.

In 1999, Jeff Sorenson purchased Rabbit Shadow and began expanding the operation.  Today, Jeff and his wife, Emily, manage both the wholesale and retail segments of the business.  Jeff serves as the main grower and produces gorgeous annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, succulents, topiary and more.  Emily runs the retail store as well as the office and is in charge of marketing and events for Rabbit Shadow.

Our garden center is located in Loveland, Colorado, a small town with a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains and a special, local charm.  From here, the entire Rabbit Shadow team is proud to provide what we like to refer to as a “boutique” gardening experience for our local customers.  With nearly 200 kinds of herbs and a wide selection of blooming plants, hanging baskets, containers and gift items, the greenhouse is a haven for gardeners.

We are proud to be family-owned and operated.  Most days, you’ll find Jeff’s parents in the greenhouse or behind the cash register.  Plus, kids are often thrilled to meet Denali, our favorite black lab and official greeter who is often accompanied by her friend, Shadow, our first-class mouser. Little ones also won’t want to miss our goldfish pond and our kids’ potting  bench where youngsters are encouraged to plant a pot free of charge every day of the week!

Stop by today and see why our customers are calling Rabbit Shadow “Northern Colorado’s Best Kept Gardening Secret.”
